Wildflowers can blanket a valley
With colors defying belief
Bring full spectrum of light to the desert
Surprise city streets

Wildflowers have no choice where they’re going
Carried by wind, birds and bees
Along the way some things change or get broken
These hitchers ride and ride for free

Wild flowers lay low in the winter
Hibernate until spring
They leap to meet the sunrise
Helping the whole world to sing

Wildflowers gently make a pathway
For lovers to create ties that bind
But they can take root in a crevice
Split hard rock in two over time

Wildflower blew into my world
Laid down seed to start a new life
Promise of freedom and beauty
lured me away from my wife
