Found an old picture of us the other day
Costa Rica on the back, no making out the date
Stuck in the pages of a tattered book
I looked long and hard, my heart shook
Summertime, tropical fling
Summertime, young man’s thing
Summertime, tropical fling
Summertime, tropical fling
Showed us lying real close on a crystal beach
Who took the picture, was long before selfies
Pulled back in time, a puppet on a string
Thoughts of her could still pack quite a sting
Parrot started laughing in a beachfront tree
Watching the loving moves of you and me
He knew I’d soon be taking leave of this world
Saying a sad good-bye to that goddess native girl
