She Could Make a Man Ache

Bill Soden

His old street was quiet as a church mouse
Lined with old oak trees on either side
Going out to fetch the morning paper
Felt like stepping back in time

He can still recall the day she moved in next door
She had two kids and not a man in sight
Knowing she was living right across the driveway
Like to drove him out of his mind

She could make a man ache
For a touch and then a taste
The way she moved was something
A passion touched with grace
She could make a man ache
From wanting her so bad
She could make a man ache
A special something that she had

Having two kids didn’t hurt her looks none
She was the finest thing around
Never seen the likes of her except in magazines
Shame any woman in town

He’d watch her come and go Monday to Friday
Weekends he’d spy her in the yard
Nights he’d look into her window till the lights went out
So near and yet so far
