Raining on This World of Mine

Bill Soden

Over my way looks like rain all day
Probably tomorrow as well
I’m rinsing out my old coffee cup
I got the hangover from hell
Went out last night to forget you
I forgot to forget
Brought someone home, a wasted night
I woke up she’d already left

I strayed from the path, it’s a hurtin thing
I broke the vows, like to dyin
You’re rid of me, sun’s smiling for you
It’s raining on this world of mine
Sure as the sun’s smiling down on you
It’s raining on this world of mine

Life with the band, those weeks on the road
Then I’d come back home for a bit
Things got real wild and crazy out there
Some things I never could quit
You probably had some doubts in your mind
But I was real good at lying
Then that girl turned up on our doorstep
Said the baby she’s holding was mine
