I remember meeting you, long gone summer night
A door swung open you walked in straight out of a dream
We got to know each other in time we fell In love
One day you said you’d never be getting over me
First time we lay together, close as close could be
The moon and stars were easing their way carried by a breeze
Brought with them a peace and quiet a soft and gentle light
I could see them up there smiling / down over me
Days turned to weeks and weeks to months aging like fine wine
One day your love turned dry as dying autumn leaves
I still carry some hurt around, some real sad memories
Remembering the moment I knew / you were over me
I’d have grabbed a fast train, they didn’t run no more
I slipped out the back door, no hanging round to grieve
No good-bye, no adios I was on my way
It was over, all over, you were over me
