Yesterday your memory came calling
You seemed so close I swear I felt you breathe
All it took was someone saying you’d been seen around
For you to hit that same old nerve in me
I still go half crazy at the mention of your name
I thought we were born to outrun time
I still go half crazy thinking of our yesterdays
Your gentle body trembling next to mine
Last night I held the pillow that we dreamed on
And pictured us the way it used to be
I guess part of me is bound to love you forever
Tied up in all those memories
Lots of things in this world worse than good-bye
So why can’t I outdistance all the pain
