Carolina Delights

Bill Soden

Finally off of the interstates, walked up the river back home
Glitter world I left back there, had come to dim with time
Started aching for the land between the smokies and the outer banks
Most of all for my sweet Dina, Carolina delights
Carolina delights

My dreams of fame and fortune didn’t quite work out
While I was gone her voice cross country, whispered, you belong back home
I’d come to miss creeks and farms and friends and down home barbecue
Out in L.A. and all alone
L.A. and all alone

Carolina delights
Opened your arms wide
Welcomed back a native son
Who’d come to see the light
Come to see the light

Wanted to come back in a rolls royce, thumbing the only choice
I saw Dinah on her front porch, she was looking so good
I yelled hey you, she ran to me, took me in her arms
Touching me with more real woman than the girls in Hollywood
Girls in Hollywood
