Run Like Wild Horses

Bill Soden & Fred Koller

The sun hangs blood red
In a sleepy southwest town
She's sittin on her front porch
In her skin tight cut offs
Knees tucked underneath her chin
Stares at the horizon
And dreams of places she ain't been

He got to town last Monday
The lawyers took him around
To all his family's businesses
The whole damn thing could all be his
But today he knows for sure
All the plans they've got for him
Sure ain't what he's looking for, oh no

Run like wild horses
Dreams have a way of getting old
Better live them out right now
Before they turn stone cold
Run like wild horses
Like a child born of the wind
The restless wind
And never ever look back and wonder
What might have been

Ain't nothin on the tv
In the small town motor inn
He takes his car out for a ride
She waves at him when he drives by
The third time she gets in
Soon they're two hundred miles
From any place they've ever been, oh yeah
