Blue Ridge Mountains like waves of the ocean
Bathed in a light blue grey haze
We watch them as they touch the horizon
Lost in love, a Blue Ridge serenade
A deep hollow lies somewhere down beneath us
We can hear a frailing banjo play
The high lonesome song of the southland
The sound of a Blue Ridge serenade
The moon begins rising, casts a cool light
Hymns from evening prayers drift up our way
Holding so close, complete harmony
Swaying to the Blue Ridge serenade
Whispering fiddles, an evening bird’s song
Usher in the end of the day
I feel the beating of our two hearts
Join in the Blue Ridge serenade
So lost in love, a Blue Ridge serenade
A high lonesome serenade
The sound of a Blue Ridge serenade
