Waves crash on the shoreline
Stars race through the sky
Stones they roll and rattle
Nova Scotia lullaby
A ridge above the ocean
Gives a perfect view
Of the place where my blood’s from
And where I’m headed to
My heart cries Evangeline
My heart sings Evangeline
All across the Maritimes
My heart breathes Evangeline
Fishermen and farmers
I’m their native son
They work spring though autumn
Then repairs and drinkin’s done
I have left the city
The isolation and the noise
New roots will be put down here
My wings will caress the void
