Closing the house at season’s end
Small island in Maine
Spent all my summers here
Childhood to the man
They always end too quickly
Vanish in the past
All winter I keep thinking
Of the beauty here at hand
Summers end too soon
Summers end too soon
Sheets cover the furniture
Windows are shut tight
Sun’s falling slowly
Walk down to the lake
I feel the leaves are turning
Hear loons say good-night
The wind is a little bit cooler
Autumn’s on the way
This summer was so different
I spent it without you
You’re somewhere watching
Walking on the wind
Picture your face as clear as day
Your shadow moving near
I’m lost imagining
All that might have been
